25 Days of Multiverse 2013, Day Six
This fic's from a challenge I set myself to do a bunch of short fics for Christmas, each set in a different universe. Secundus ended up at the number six spot, and I decided to do a piece featuring Marty and Jennifer (who kind of get the short end of the stick in these fics) in the Christmas that separates "Secundus" from the hopefully-eventual "Secundus 2." Not much else to say -- it's just fluff tinged with angst. My favorite.
“Man – it’s great to be home for the holidays. I missed too many Christmases with you, Jen.”
“You only missed two,” Jennifer pointed out, giggling.
“Still. . . .” Marty gave her a kiss. “You were always on my mind this time of year.”
“So were you.” Jennifer snuggled close. “Tell me again about Christmas in Secundus?”
“Why? That eager to know how I celebrated without you?”
“More eager to know how you celebrated with Victor.”
“I’m that obvious, huh?” Marty sighed. “Sorry. It’s just – he was one of my best friends over there.”
“Well, hopefully one day I’ll get to meet him.”
